It's Denise flying solo again, this time talking about the last two weeks- a great Girls' Night Out comedy benefit for Stonewall UK starring Jen Brister, Rosie Wilby, Zoe Lyons and a bunch of talented ladies at the Bloomsbury Theatre, a fun adventure to a new farm shop with an American section (bring on the HESHEYS!) as well as the tragic events that happened in Paris and it's effects, plus entertainment news including the Golden Globes and the Oscar nominations + snubs. Some terrific chick music is featured with The Veronicas, an Australian duo with some catchy tunes and great looks (www.theveronicas.com) Two great internet sites and two very trendy Fireball drink recipes are discussed and a few UK events to note. Denise flies solo for this show and gets you caught up on her December. The big secret is out on why Donna is absent: Hello Mrs. Solomon-CARTER! And a Happy New Year to you all! A bunch of "congrats" are announced along with shout outs, as Florida celebrates it's ban on gay marriage being lifted yesterday! A historical moment indeed. What do you get when you take two fat, best friends and put them together right after Thanksgiving? A "Nothing But Food" show happens, folks. Denise & Donna discuss not only their Thanksgiving feasts, but the food they've had all month long (a TurDuken Burger?! Really?), including a recent Foodie Festival that Denise just attended in London over the weekend. As if that's not enough, the girls discuss what new, trendy places they have to go to while Denise is in Florida next week. Yesterday, we attended the "Ultimate Planet Community Awards Ceremony" brought to you by Planet London and sponsored by TelloFilms at the ever-so-posh SWAY Bar in London. Months and months of planning by Katie & Naomi Bennett-Hall to bring the community together and celebrate each other in such a positive, supportive and amazingly classy way. The hosts of the evening Lara King & Madge Hooks were thoroughly entertaining, the presenters Lady Phyll, Ingo, Rosie Wilby and Amy B were so fun, keeping the audience engaged throughout and…. the food: TO DIE FOR! Incredible entertainment from Grey Matter, Miri, and a rockin' After Party. MyLesbianRadio (Denise & Jemma, basically…) were invited to record a running commentary- "Eurovision"- Graham Norton-style in the hush tones, over the live show, kind of like the grumpy old judges up in the balcony on The Muppet Show, but…..in lesbian clothes. It's "Guest Co-Host Night" in The Lounge and filling in for Donna is our long time listener Lori (LC) joining Denise all the way from Syracuse, NY!
