She's the daughter of Lucy and Mandy Burton of the British band "Eeek", and Denise met Martha when she was only seven years old. She's now pushing the ripe old age of 17 and in University, but oh what success she's had already! She was on "The Voice UK Kids" just a few short years ago and got all the way to the finals and now she's writing and creating music of her own in her unique style. We caught up with Martha this week to have a chat and hear her new song "Call Me", which you can listen to on SoundCloud at Martha Moxon Music. We discuss this year's OutShineFilm Festival - going on NOW-and what it means to the community, running for 24 years in Miami and 13 years in Fort Lauderdale. Mark talks about how the festivals have evolved, what you can expect this year and how they've adapted during these Covid times. Denise and Mark reminisce a bit about how Mark gave Denise her start as a presenter over 20 years ago on an FM dance music station Party 93.1 when it was unheard of for a gay radio talk show to be on your radio. JD and Denise catch up over a drink waiting on Tyler, only to realize JD hadn't sent the link. Awesome! So Tyler joins in, and has a special surprise - he created a cocktail for Denise's Mom! He also teaches us about balancing with citrus or bitters, sweets as well as the delicate art of muddling, all while building the perfect drink, starting with Bob Dylan's Heaven's Door whiskey.  It's a "Marlini" because yes, my mother's name is Marlene. As always, these shows are best to WATCH, so click this link for our YouTube Channel.

Tyler, our Memphis mixologist from the ultra trendy bar "The Gray Canary" (as well as "Eight and Sand") visits with us again! JD is a little late getting in but Denise and Tyler have a quick catch up and some whiskey chat while Tyler explains his inspiration for this "Front Porch Pounder"- a drink you can love while sitting on your front porch on a warm weekend. It's really a modern, grown up riff on the classic college jungle juice. He's almost ready to share some eclectic, electric neon-colored summer drinks but NOT yet, it's still Spring so we're cruising slowly and savoring this pretty drink made with whiskey, cappaletti, lemon juice, cynar, vanilla extract, dash of sugar syrup!
