JD and Denise return after a brief hiatus to recharge, refresh and kick off the Fall season with a great first show back. They meet Lauren Hughes, a Pittsburgh queer (originally from Indy) who's making her mark in the Beer World at Necromancer Brewery by being an award-winning brew master at this local hot spot. Lauren discusses her rise in the ranks, her past, her favourite brews, the awards they've won and how important it is to have creative freedom to work. We also talk about the how the brewery has also become a welcomed spot for her LGBTQ Community, about the monthly events the brewery holds for them and what it means to have a local safe space. Joe tells us about his latest project "Watershed: The Death of Dr. Duncan" about a 1970's trial having to do with outlawed homosexuality. The Rainbow Remix -Ep. 128 - The Importance of LGBTQ Allies

Denise and JD welcome Denise's younger cousin Kris Vanone to the show to discuss how important LGBTQ allies are to our community. Denise learned that Kris took her whole family to Buffalo Pride and they wore their "Free Mom and Dad Hugs" shirts while their son twirled his rainbow flag with the parade participants. Kris talked how emotional she got during the hugs and how it's vital to teach her son acceptance, and encourage him to embrace others.
