Whiskey Rock Lounge

We’re powered by MyLesbianRadio.com -featuring The Whiskey Rock Lounge, an all new Podcast and Zoom show with hosts Denise Warner and singer JD Danner. Plenty of good chat with entertaining guests and topics. You can find The Lesbian Book Club here too! Our shows are largely LGBTQ but we’re inclusive to all.

JD and Denise have a fantastic chat with Miami's Marky G, long time disc jockey, host, presenter and the main juggler of all things for the annual LGBTQ+ Film Festivals. We discuss this year's OutShineFilm Festival - going on NOW-and what it means to the community, running for 24 years in Miami and 13 years in Fort Lauderdale. Mark talks about how the festivals have evolved, what you can expect this year and how they've adapted during these Covid times. Denise and Mark reminisce a bit about how Mark gave Denise her start as a presenter over 20 years ago on an FM dance music station Party 93.1 when it was unheard of for a gay radio talk show to be on your radio. Denise brings a load of snacks to the table to compare notes and the two try Frazzles, and give them a thumbs down. Fun talk hearing of AJ's fan following and how it all started and where he hopes it's going. To view this episode on our YouTube Channel click this link. It's always better to view shows like this. Welcome to episode 72 of the Lesbian Book Club, where Clare interviews UK author Laura Kay. Her debut novel “The Split” has been described as like “meeting Marian Keyes and Dawn O’Porter in a gay bar in Sheffield.” Laura tells us about writing it: “I wanted to write about a friendship between a queer woman and a queer man, and it was just a joy.” She also talks about how Sheffield is the worst place to run “crazy hilly and cold!”, and how she could never live on a houseboat.

Clare also does a run-down of the Amazon Lesbian Fiction charts in the US & UK, as well as updating you on the latest news from lesfic world. Her upcoming novel "Change Of Heart" is out in October, and the audiobook of "Big London Dreams" is coming in November. Get a free lesbian romance at: www.clarelydon.co.uk
