Clare Lydon, successful British lesbian fiction writer, who has hosted "The Lesbian Book Club" for the last five years right here on this audio feed - joins Denise for chat to look back on these past years, as she bids farewell to her podcast time here at MyLesbianRadio. Her last show will be in December, and we discuss how the show evolved, some of her fan girl moments with other authors, and what she'll do with her time. Her debut novel “The Split” has been described as like “meeting Marian Keyes and Dawn O’Porter in a gay bar in Sheffield.” Laura tells us about writing it: “I wanted to write about a friendship between a queer woman and a queer man, and it was just a joy.” She also talks about how Sheffield is the worst place to run “crazy hilly and cold!”, and how she could never live on a houseboat.

JD and Denise welcome British comedian and author Rosie Wilby joins us to discuss the recent success of her book "The Break Up Monologues", which spawned from a dumping that happened to her a while ago, launching her into collecting stories, facts and statistics regarding break ups- of course, with her own funny insightful spin. She's also got a podcast of the same name. Rosie's book is now available in Australia and The United States, so we discuss traveling during COVID times and all the adjustments that now come with promoting the book. JD and Denise welcome Tyler, our Memphis mixologist, back from his big Middle American Road Trip- from Route 66 to the outskirts of Colorado, Tyler ate and drank his way thru the mid-west. He got major inspiration for his newest creation, aptly called "One From The Road", made with bourbon, brown sugar, spicy New Mexican pepper, and of course some Amaro bitters and a gorgeous garnish. Tyler explains the explosion of flavours and different types of bitters, as well as the Mezcal trend and why we better buy it up soon. Rosie is an award-winning comedian, author and podcaster whose first book was entitled “Is Monogamy Dead?” She released her second book this year, and “The Break-Up Monologues” asks what we can learn from heartache and how it can teach us so much about ourselves and relationships. It’s a funny and honest delve into the human psyche and what it takes to stay in a relationship for all the right reasons. Easier said than done!
