International singer and songwriter Jessi Campo drops in on us from Miami, on her way to New Orleans. JD celebrates with some spicy rum, while Denise goes for a hard apple cider with a Fireball floater on top. Jessi tells us about the EEIM (Eastern European Independent Movies) Award for her single "LeGrimas Negras", as well as being thrilled her music has been used in the Amazon Prime series "Gentrified", plus she talks about her career and the influences of her Latin parents. JD and Denise have a fantastic chat with Miami's Marky G, long time disc jockey, host, presenter and the main juggler of all things for the annual LGBTQ+ Film Festivals. We discuss this year's OutShineFilm Festival - going on NOW-and what it means to the community, running for 24 years in Miami and 13 years in Fort Lauderdale. Mark talks about how the festivals have evolved, what you can expect this year and how they've adapted during these Covid times. Denise and Mark reminisce a bit about how Mark gave Denise her start as a presenter over 20 years ago on an FM dance music station Party 93.1 when it was unheard of for a gay radio talk show to be on your radio. JD and Denise have a midday catch up over drinks, JD having Bailey's in her toasted coconut coffee, which of course grosses Denise out, who's having Shanky's Irish Vanilla whiskey in her cream soda. With JD still on the go taking care of family members, Denise spends some time with out British author Paul Burston ("The Gay Divorcee", "The Black Path", "The Closer I Get"), who not only has some top notch novels out, he's also created and hosts the very successful and long running "Polari Literary Salon" for years now, curating entertaining authors to read from their own books for audiences around London. Tune in and find out how he adapted Polari, during these trying Covid times and now expanded it with writing Work Shops, shows and a tour with pal, VG Lee, fellow author and stand up comedian. While JD tends to her Covid ravaged family and their -thankfully-mild cases, Denise takes over to have a long awaited chat with NY's own Debra Barsha, a queer Broadway musician, musical theater director, composer and singer who's spent her adult life involved in Broadway music, and teaching, directing and writing. Currently bringing "Radiant Baby" back in a new revival, as well as preparing for "TINA", the Tina Turner story. JD and Denise have a conversation with Dan Renzi, who you might remember from MTV's "Real World Miami" and "Road Rules vs Real World Challenges". All these years later and Dan is a nurse now, traveling all over the country fighting COVID as a frontline healthcare warrior. They chat about the renewed interest, reboot talk and nostalgia from back then as well as vaccine hesitation, misinformation and oh yeh- Dan and Denise's obsession with The Eurovision Song Contest. JD has a little Mount Gay Rum and coke while Denise indulges in a craft brew from Tiny Rebel Brewery called Stay Puft, a marshmallow porter. The ladies share some good news that Denise received and then they have an interesting chat with Marjorie Waldo, the CEO of Arts Garage, a fantastic venue in Delray Beach, Florida where all kinds of music, performers, and artists are welcomed. Marjorie discusses the Covid safety guidelines they've put in place, the acts they've had and the new Garage Kweens show they are putting on in April, how to buy tickets for shows or be a donor. We don't have any video this week, but we'll have more next week.

Denise and JD welcome back Tyler the Magnificent Mixologist from Memphis (we named him that, poor guy) who's got quite an impressive cocktail he's created for Valentine's Day, based a few of his girlfriend's favorite things including a rose pedal frozen into the ice cube (how adorable is he?!) Denise is drinking Rock Top Apple Pie Arkansas Lightning whiskey liquer and JD goes for a bit of Goldschlager! The gang has some laughs over answering Denise's question: "What drink did you get sick on when you were younger and still can't drink today?" - Super fun show and plenty of time to practice this cocktail and impress your sweetie next week! The girls have a quick catch up and decide to play a game of 20 Questions, based on what they've been asked the most by interviewers.
