Welcome to episode 41 of the Lesbian Book Club with Clare Lydon as she interviews US author TB Markinson, whose recent books have included “The Fall Girl” and “A Family Woman”. TB talks about being an American in London, the highs and lows of living the writing life, the magic of characters and story, and why she started her new website www.iheartlesfic.com to serve the lesbian fiction community.

Clare also does a run-down of the Amazon Lesbian Fiction charts in the US & UK, as well as filling you in on what she’s been up to, including wrapping up “The London Of Us”, book four in the London Romance series (due out in June); and writing her joint book with Harper Bliss – called “Once Upon A Princess” – a royal romance due out at the end of May. She also features the shortlists for the Diva Awards and the Goldies – Diva is taking place in June and the Goldies in July. Plus, if you’re in the UK, don’t forget EllCon, the brand-new European Lesfic Literary Conference on the block coming in August. For more on that, head to: http://ellconmeet.org/

Even when they aren't technically "on the rag", they still find things to vent about! This month, Heather and Nicole crank on Trump ("ugh, he's still President"), then promptly tackle the issues of little stickers that come on fruit, the automated soap, faucets and hand dryers in rest rooms, the push/pull door dilemma, budget airlines ("Spirit can ruin your life"), family planning ("a hostile uterus"?), big city dwellers and more. So, buckle up, because these girls are unleashing some hilarious observations. Perhaps a bit more calmly today but wait til next month. The rage shall resume! Welcome to 2018, it's Rag Time! Starting off with a bang, or rather-a burp- Heather and Nicole are back and venting about all new things this year. Today, the ladies rant about Trump and his gold digger wife, and then somehow veer into twat pimples, their mutual hate of Tom Brady and his white guy privilege, the unspoken rules of rush hour walking and driving, the caffiene jitters, and finally Bitcoin. 'Tis the season! This show was a crazy recap of the very first meeting with Jemma from Oz (way before she and Denise got married) when she had travelled to the States with her little gay boy buddy, James. Their four days in South Florida meeting the entire bunch of Lesbian Lounge hosts and crew are detailed in somewhat foggy fashion as the wildness is pieced together from what can be remembered. Jemma, herself, calls in from the hotel in California, the next stop after Florida, to rehash the events and fill in our blanks. Places, food, drinks, and parties are dished about as well as hook ups, and epic fails. Also, we hear from musician Julie Schurr and filmmaker Linda Andersson. Happy, filthy, fun from back in December 2008. We hope everyone has a great 2017 Holiday and a fantastic New Year 2018. Cheers, to all our loyal listeners for showing the ongoing love and to the newbies who are just discovering the podcast: BRACE YOURSELVES, it only gets nuttier as the years go on! Welcome to episode 37 of the Lesbian Book Club with UK author Clare Lydon as she interviews US-based author Annette Mori whose novel “Locked Inside” won a Goldie award in 2016 for Contemporary Romance – the biggest prize in lesfic! But that’s just one of a number of books Annette’s written, her latest being “The Thanksgiving Baby Caper”. Annette chats about not following a set writing formula, writing across genres and her excitement about her new book, “Unconventional Lovers”. She also mentions Lee Winter in the show, who was on episode 18.

Clare also does a run-down of the Amazon Lesbian Fiction charts in the US & UK, reviews the Diva Literary Festival which took place in early November in Birmingham, as well as doing a round-up of her year and what’s in store for 2018 – including more audiobooks & podcasts! Enjoy another classic from July of 2008, when we had Lori Michaels (www.lorimichaelsmusic.com) call in, we discuss cheesy pick up lines, introduce a new summer drink called The Lunch Box, and some cool websites. We gush over the discovery of Pei Wei Restuarant and we review a short film called "Break A Leg, Rosie" starring Carly Pope, plus we answer some questons from Jemma and critique some lesbian online personal ads. Good stuff from back in the good ol' days!

The party preparations are under way for later in the week, but the ladies are drinking on the air, which is always makes it fun. Stayed tuned after the show for a special message from Denise. In November of 2009, fresh off the Sweet Cruise, we did the 4th Annual Drunk Dial show on the eve of Thanksgiving and drunkenly spoke to musicians Julie Schurr and JD Danner as well as comedian Dana Goldberg. We also left a drunk voicemail for poor Cathy DeBuono (AGAIN!), and bothered lesbian event promoter Alison Burgos on her busiest night of the year. But, the best call was to actress Carly Pope ("Popular", "Arrow", "Suits", "YPF" "Elysium" "Itty Bitty Titty Committee") while she was on the set, filming a movie with Eric McCormack ("Will and Grace"). Ever the classy broads, we end on a bang when Denise proposed to Jemma on the air. Subscribe now so you won't miss any of our vintage classic shows as we re-play them all summer long.

Who could forget the time we had "The L Word" star Janina Gavankar ("Papi") on the show? Back in September 2009, we had the funnest interview ever with the L Word star, calling in from her LA home and sharing with us with set gossip, laughs, music and family antecdotes all while taking questions from the live chat room listeners. We also discuss one of our first visits from Hazel, our London listener who flew in to Florida to meet us before we embarked on the inaugural Sweet Cruise. Good stuff, good memories and good times! Be sure you're subscribed to our feed for all of our classic Lesbian Lounge shows this summer as we re-live some of our best times and best guest interviews!
